Day of Fasting and Abstinence

Good Friday comemorates the crucifixion, death, and burial of Christ Jesus. Only one liturgy is permitted this day, and it continues the one begun on Holy Thursday evening. The Good Friday liturgy consists of reading the Passion of Jesus Christ, the Adoration of the Cross, and concludes with the reception of Holy Communion.
